The (somewhat) official report of my internship with the Mississippi Teacher Corps, summer 2008.

Another Note on Corporal Punishment
This post on my other blog was really coincidental with current discussions among the Interns and another recent blog post. I just glanced at it again today and thought y’all might like to read it; it’s only tangentially related.
My name is Philip Thomas Mohr. While most of the year I play the part of a studious kid at St. John’s College, now my true identity as one of the Mississippi Teacher Corps Summer Interns (for 2008) has been revealed. I’m completely dedicated to learning, I thoroughly enjoy teaching, and I’m honored to have an opportunity to work with the MTC. My first post fleshes this introduction out a bit.
I keep another blog that I use as an outlet for my personal meditations on God, and I invite anyone to leave comments for me on either blog. To contact me, anyone may use my school email address, ptmohr@sjca.edu. I also have an account on Facebook under my full name.
About the Internship:
The Mississippi Teacher Corps has invited me to come to Oxford, Mississippi, for two months in the summer of 2008 to work in their program and learn about education in the South. The MTC is about the teachers and the students, the needs and the means, the vision and the practice, the hope and the change in education.
My plan is to work hard, learn a lot, and treasure every moment.
What would most hinder a student from going through and gaining a diploma from a public high school system?
